2004 - Dragon of Air

December, 2004. The fifth entry in my series of elemental dragons, the element of Air, now in her fourth (and probably final) incarnation. Like Water, Air is also one of the most important elements for life, and she is viewed as a female as well. With a feathered crest, split-wing design and a forked swallowtail, it is no coincidence that this dragon so closely resembles my feathered Sky dragons -- for she is the one who created that species in the first place, based on her own feathered form.

Trying to create eight dragons as quickly as possible was starting to take its toll on my creative energy, which gave me some problems (especially since I considered her previous version nearly perfect). Nonetheless, I gave her a level of detail comparalbe to my other entries in this series, plus for a first time ever, a triple-split wing design, giving her the appearance of six wings. Plus feathers ... beautiful.
